Kay's Comments:  Update: Having read this book thoroughly ( and intend to more than once!)  I have to say it is life changing for me.  The title, while it fits in with the other titles in the series, leaves the reader totally clueless to the depth of this story. Truly, a fitting parable for us all.

Tyler Anderson was six years old when he is sent to live with his grandparents in Amish country. He is torn between his connection to the Englisch word and the Amish world. What is to be his ultimate world view?

Kay's comments: Delightful is the first word that comes to mind to describe this book. It's a gem of history, romance and a interestingly enough, sci-fi. How can a historical novel be sci-fi? It's worth reading to find out!

This is part of a series but stands alone.  Looking forward to reading the next in the series. A fun, relaxing read. Go for it!

Kay's comments:  Good read! Even if you have read Amish fiction before, you will learn new things about the Amish. The title is signficant as a double entendre. The characters experience growing pains so don't judge them by your first impression. I enjoyed reading this book.

Kay's comments:  I love this book! While romance is part of the storyline, there is a deeper story of love to be found. The two main characters, who are Amish, explain how their love for God and their fellow man calls them to  join the Civil War.  For me, it is an example how individuals can know God and express it in different ways.

While I thought I knew a good bit about the civil war, I was amazed at how much I learned. Personally, shorter descriptions of the battles would suited me just fine. At few points the storyline drags but it is worth the investment of time to keep going.
